Long before Mika Singh owned 99 properties across India, he was a 13-year-old earning Rs. 75 per performance at jagrans. That modest first paycheck, rather than discouraging him, became the foundation of a philosophy he still holds: that talent, not ambition, builds lasting wealth. It was his elder brother and veteran singer Daler Mehndi who shaped his early musical sensibility, and it was music alone that eventually opened the door to a life Mika never consciously planned for.
The building that sat empty for six years
Among his many acquisitions, it is his Mumbai residence that stands apart, both in scale and in story. Mika purchased six flats in a single building in Shastri Nagar, Andheri West, back in 2012, a building that remained entirely vacant for six years before the keys were handed over to him in 2018. What began as a planned eight-bedroom apartment was reimagined into a sprawling five-bedroom home, complete with guest suites, family spaces, a private bedroom and a living area large enough to seat around 40 guests. The property today is valued at Rs. 50 crores.
SRK's candid advice
For the interiors, Mika had only one name in mind: Gauri Khan. To get to her, he went through her husband first. Shah Rukh Khan's response, as Mika recalled in an interview with Pinkvilla, was characteristically blunt and laced with humour. "Bahut lootegi tumhe," Shah Rukh said, adding, "Mehenga karegi." Undeterred, Mika pressed on, and Shah Rukh eventually told him to approach Gauri directly.
Gauri Khan's one condition
Once on board, Gauri Khan laid down a single, non-negotiable rule: her design decisions would not be questioned. Mika, who personally gravitates toward beige and brown palettes, agreed without hesitation. True to her vision, Gauri introduced a bold green couch as the centrepiece of the living space, a choice that broke every one of Mika's usual preferences. Over the nearly two-year renovation, he did not visit the property once, trusting her completely.
The result, by his own account, is a home he is deeply grateful for. On the professional front, Mika Singh is set to appear in the comedy film Welcome to the Jungle, releasing on 26 June 2026.
