PVRInox Pictures will release The Invite, Olivia Wilde's dark comedy, in theatres across India on June 26, 2026. Distributed internationally by A24, the film stars Wilde alongside Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton.
The Invite premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on 24 January, where it generated a competitive bidding war before being acquired by A24. The film is an English-language adaptation of the 2020 Spanish film The People Upstairs, directed by Cesc Gay. The screenplay is written by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones.
The film centres on Joe (Rogen) and Angela (Wilde), a married couple experiencing a rough patch in their relationship. When they invite their upstairs neighbours Hawk (Norton) and Pina (Cruz) over for a dinner party, the evening takes an unexpected turn, drawing all four into a night that tests the boundaries of their relationships.
This is Wilde's third feature as director, following Booksmart (2019) and Don't Worry Darling (2022). The Invite received generally positive reviews at Sundance, holding a 91 per cent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 77 out of 100 on Metacritic at the time of its festival run.

The film is produced by Ben Browning, Megan Ellison and David Permut, under Annapurna Pictures, FilmNation Entertainment and Permut Presentations, and is distributed by A24.
