Prime Video has unveiled the trailer of its upcoming Original movie System, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Jyotika and Ashutosh Gowariker in lead roles. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the courtroom thriller is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on May 22 across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The trailer introduces viewers to Neha, played by Sonakshi Sinha, a determined lawyer trying to prove herself worthy of becoming a partner at her father’s law firm. Ashutosh Gowariker essays the role of her father in the film. In her pursuit, Neha teams up with Sarika, portrayed by Jyotika, a courtroom stenographer with her own hidden motivations. The trailer hints at tense courtroom confrontations, emotional conflicts and social commentary surrounding inequality and influence within the justice system. One of the dialogues featured in the trailer — “Ameeri ke shor mein gareeb ki awaaz kho jaati hai (The voice of the power often drowns ” — highlights the film’s central conflict involving power and access to justice.
Speaking about the project, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari said, “I believe there are innumerable stories that surround us but bringing them to life on screen authentically and creatively, is tough. I love to challenge myself and that’s why System came into existence.” She added, “I am thrilled that Prime Video believed in my vision for this intriguing story about how justice can feel different depending on where you stand in society. Sonakshi Sinha, who plays public prosecutor Neha, shared, “Playing this character has been deeply rewarding. Produced under the banner of Baweja Studios by Pammi Baweja, Harman Baweja and Smitha Baliga, System revolves around themes of justice, privilege, ambition and morality. The film has been written by Harman Baweja, Arun Sukumar, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Tasneem Lokhandwala and Akshat Ghildial.
