Dhurandhar The Revenge is on its last legs and has emerged as a rage in India as well as Overseas. Just like Dhurandhar (2025), the sequel failed to get a release in the Gulf countries. In December 2025, we spoke to various trade experts and an overseas distributor who explained to Bollywood Hungama that the action entertainer would have done a business of around Rs. 45-50 crores in the UAE. GCC would have contributed 10% more, so the final figure would have come to Rs. 55 crores. Meanwhile, Dhurandhar The Revenge is a bigger hit than the first part and hence, trade is of the opinion that the business would have also been more had it been released in the UAE-GCC belt.
Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “In the UAE, the business would have been huge. A lot of people believed that a section of the audience from the neighbouring country might have skipped the film. However, if you look at markets like the UK and Australia, they also have a sizeable audience from the neighbouring country. Many, including me, were wondering how much the collections of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar The Revenge would be impacted in these markets. However, the film has crossed Pathaan (2023) in the UK and emerged as the number 1 Hindi film of all time there. That says it all. When you go on social media, a lot of Pakistanis can be seen discussing Dhurandhar. The first part also trended in Pakistan on Netflix.”
He added, “Somewhere down the line, the film did lose out on UAE-GCC. But the fact remains that other markets were overwhelmed to such an extent that it has smashed all records. The USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are big markets and it contributes a bulk of the Overseas revenue. One can say or assume whatever one wants, but numbers speak louder than words.”
Taran Adarsh also noted, “The film is still running in the UK and other markets. It hasn’t exhausted its run yet and continues to collect well even after six weeks. It’s not as if it is earning just £100 or so. The business remains significant even today.”
Trade analyst Atul Mohan stated, “Dhurandhar The Revenge, as we all know, is a global success. It has broken all records in almost all the territories. So, it would have been in the top 3 if not the top grosser in the UAE-GCC region.”
Girish Johar, producer and eminent film business analyst, said, “A business of Rs. 70-80 crores was a possibility because the records it has broken in overseas markets, especially the US, Canada and the UK. In fact, I wouldn’t have been surprised if it had even done Rs. 100 crores in the Middle East.”
Suniel Wadhwa, Co-Founder & Director, Karmic Films, explained, “With Dhurandhar The Revenge clocking nearly $45 million overseas without the Gulf, the scale of missed upside becomes even more pronounced when compared to Part 1. Traditionally, the Gulf contributes 15-18% of overseas revenues for big-ticket Hindi films, and for event sequels, that share can stretch to 18–20%. On that basis, Dhurandhar The Revenge potentially left $8-10 million on the table, that is, roughly Rs. 65-85 crores, purely due to non-release in the Gulf. In comparison, Part 1 would have operated on a lower base. So, the absolute impact on the sequel is significantly higher despite stronger global traction.”
He observed, “What is critical here is the multiplier effect: when a film is already performing at a $45 million level without a key territory, the absence doesn’t just cap revenue. It compresses what could have been a $55-60 million overseas finish. That gap materially alters perception, benchmarks, and even downstream valuation across satellite and digital.”
Suniel Wadhwa signed off by stating, “For a franchise film at this scale, the Gulf is not optional anymore. It’s a core revenue pillar. Missing it at peak demand not only impacts immediate box office but also weakens the global momentum curve, which is crucial for long-tail monetization.”
