Ramayana is already being hailed as the biggest cinematic event of 2026, with anticipation building across the globe. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, in collaboration with 8-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film is envisioned as a grand two-part global spectacle.
While the Rama glimpse was recently released, it left everyone stunned with everything it presented, from VFX and sound design to casting and sheer grandeur. While everyone is eyeing on the film, Global exhibitor John Fithian, founding partner at The Fithian Group LLC, is also betting on the film to become world’s biggest film from India.
John Fithian took to his LinkedIN and wrote, “Update on #Ramayana - The First Global Blockbuster out of India? When my partners Patrick Corcoran, Jackie Brenneman and I formed The Fithian Group, LLC, we did not anticipate that we would be privileged to collaborate with Namit Malhotra as he brings #RamayanaMovie to the world. In advance of CinemaCon 2026, Patrick and I sent the invitation below to many of our friends in theatrical exhibition.”
The post added, “Well, we just flew home from the CinemaCon week in Las Vegas. What happened? All the most important theatrical exhibition companies from the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and Australia scheduled and attended private meetings in the Ramayana demonstration ballroom and theater, where Namit showed them never-before seen clips of the movie, with never-before used technologies and special effects, and learned from those leading western cinema operators how best to market, distribute and exhibit the movie in their territories. Having witnessed those conversations, I can now predict that Ramayana (in two parts) will become the first Indian global theatrical blockbuster ever. See you at the movies!"
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with 8-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the two-part epic will release in IMAX worldwide — Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
