Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the leak of Jana Nayagan, the Southern India Film Editors Association has issued a clarification rejecting reports that it had identified a specific post-production facility in connection with the incident. The statement comes shortly after the piracy case surrounding the Vijay starrer escalated, with authorities reportedly arresting multiple suspects and removing hundreds of illegal links as part of a wider cyber crackdown.

Addressing the issue in a public message shared on X, association president Gopikrishna said the organisation had not named any individual facility during its press interaction and urged people not to rely on speculation while the probe continues.
The note read, “Southern India film editors association is strongly clarifying that no specific post facilities have been mentioned in our press meet regarding the leak. Numerous persons and facilities were involved and investigations are ongoing to find the culprits. So Please do not believe baseless rumors!”

The statement further added, Clips from the film began circulating on social media on Thursday, and by the following day the full film had reportedly surfaced online, triggering strong reactions from members of the film fraternity. Several industry figures condemned the leak and called for strict action against those responsible.”
The association’s clarification comes at a time when authorities and industry stakeholders are continuing efforts to trace the source of the leak and curb further circulation of pirated material. Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
