Actor Shah Rukh Khan shared a heartfelt tribute following the demise of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, remembering her as a towering figure whose voice shaped Indian cinema across generations.
Taking to X, the actor wrote, “It’s truly sad to learn about Asha Tai’s passing… her voice has been one of the pillars of Indian cinema and will continue to resonate world over for centuries to come. A talent that will outlive many, she always showered me with blessings and love and I will miss her. Rest in Peace Asha Tai… love you.”

Over the decades, the singer lent her voice to several films featuring Shah Rukh Khan, including popular tracks from the 1990s. Among the most remembered collaborations remains ‘Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Main,’ which she sang with Abhijeet Bhattacharya for the blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The song continues to be associated with the film’s enduring popularity and its music.
Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday, April 12, after battling health complications. She had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday following cardiac and respiratory issues.
Her mortal remains will be kept at her residence, Casa Grande in Lower Parel, for the public to pay their final respects from 11 am on Monday. The family informed that her last rites will be conducted at 4 pm later in the evening.
Tributes have been pouring in from across sectors following the singer’s passing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences, describing her as one of India’s most versatile voices whose musical journey enriched the country’s cultural heritage. He noted that her songs would continue to inspire future generations and remain part of people’s lives for years to come.
