Siddharth Nigam is drawing attention for his action-packed performance in the recently released series Kaptaan, now streaming on Amazon MX Player. The actor, who plays Kabir in the crime drama, has gone the extra mile to bring authenticity to the role—performing high-risk action sequences on his own, even at the cost of injuries.
Set in the fictional town of Jwalabad, Kaptaan explores a gritty world of organised crime, power struggles, and personal vendettas. The narrative pits Saqib Saleem’s SSP Samardeep against Nigam’s Kabir, creating an intense face-off that drives the series. The show also features a strong ensemble cast including Kavita Kaushik, Varun Badola, Anjumm Shharma, Aarif Zakaria, Poojaa Gor, Vikram Kochhar, and Anushka Kaushik in key roles.
Opening up about the physically demanding nature of his role, Siddharth Nigam shared, “I performed all my action sequences myself, from jumping off heights of around 20 feet to executing continuous one-shot action scenes. There were moments where I even got injured, but for me, that’s part of the process when you’re fully committed to the character. The intention was always to make the action feel authentic, so that the audience doesn’t just see it, but actually experiences it with Kabir.”
He also reflected on working alongside his co-stars, particularly Saqib Saleem. “Saqib bhai is extremely supportive and brought a very positive energy on set, which made it easier for everyone to perform more freely. Working with such talented actors pushed me to bring my A-game to each scene. It was truly a collaborative environment, and there was so much to learn throughout the process,” he added.
Directed by Jatin Wagle and produced by Pammi Baweja and Harman Baweja under Baweja Studios, Kaptaan is currently available to stream for free across multiple platforms, including mobile devices, connected TVs, and select OTT integrations.
