The actor spoke candidly about the intense demands of preparing for roles that required him to both gain and lose weight within a short span.

For Ginny Wedss Sunny 2, Avinash Tiwary took on the role of a wrestler, a part that required him to bulk up significantly. The transformation wasn’t just about appearances but about embodying the physicality and presence of the character. However, in a surprising turn of events, the actor was simultaneously approached for another project, O’Romeo, which demanded a contrasting look.

Speaking at the trailer launch, Avinash shared, “This film we actually shot prior to O Romeo. In fact, the call for O Romeo came while we were still shooting for Ginny Weds Sunny. I was already in the process of bulking up for another film, and even in Ginny Weds Sunny, if you notice, I play a pehlwaan, so there was a natural transition from that phase into O Romeo that you eventually saw. This film, interestingly, sits right in the middle of that journey. What you see me like right now is much later, after all these films have happened—because even in this one, I’m far more built than I am currently. But that’s part of the job—gain weight, lose weight, transform,” he adds with a laugh.

Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 is positioned as a vibrant mismatched love story set against the backdrop of a big Indian wedding. The film pairs Avinash with Medha Shankr, who plays a free-spirited woman, creating an interesting contrast with his headstrong wrestler character.

As anticipation around the film continues to grow, Avinash is also preparing for his upcoming project O Saathi Re, directed by Imtiaz Ali. With such diverse roles lined up, the actor is steadily carving a space for himself as a performer willing to push boundaries—both physically and creatively—in pursuit of compelling storytelling.
