Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari recently opened up about the scene he feels most emotionally connected to in his ambitious mythological epic Ramayana. Speaking at the film’s teaser unveil event held in Los Angeles, the director reflected on a moment from the narrative that continues to move him deeply.

“See, it's a very tough question to ask to a director because for a director every scene is his favorite scene because otherwise it will not be there in the movie. Having said that, one scene I am really looking forward to watching in the theater along with the audience just to see if I have managed to capture that those emotions correctly or not is when Lord Ram leaves for exile,” Tiwari said.
He further elaborated on the emotional weight of the sequence, adding, “It's a very emotional moment. The whole of city is out there not wanting him to leave, crying along with him. I think it's a moment which is closest to me. It makes me emotional every time I see it.”

The Los Angeles event, held ahead of the teaser launch, saw key members of the film’s team—including Ranbir Kapoor and producer Namit Malhotra—interacting with international media, offering insights into the scale and vision of the project.
Back in India, the much-anticipated glimpse of Lord Ram was officially unveiled on April 2, sparking widespread conversation among audiences. The teaser provided a first look into the film’s grand visual world, hinting at a large-scale retelling of the revered epic.
Ramayana, directed by Tiwari and backed by Namit Malhotra’s production banner, is being mounted as a multi-part cinematic spectacle. While Ranbir Kapoor is set to portray Lord Ram, the film features a sprawling ensemble cast, with actors like Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Laxman and many other big names in key roles. The project has been generating significant buzz for its scale, visual ambition, and reinterpretation of one of India’s most cherished mythological texts.
With cutting-edge VFX, an expansive narrative, and a strong emotional core, Ramayana aims to blend spectacle with storytelling. The film will be releasing in two parts – one that is scheduled to hit cinemas in Diwali 2026 and the other is slated for Diwali 2027 release.
As anticipation builds, it remains to be seen how audiences respond to the filmmaker’s vision—particularly to the scene he holds closest to his heart.
