Actor Akansha Ranjan Kapoor is marking six years since the release of her debut film Guilty. The film introduced her to audiences and marked the beginning of her journey as an actor. In the campus drama, Akansha played Tanu Kumar, a confident and outspoken college student navigating friendships and complex situations within the story, led by Kiara Advani. Directed by Ruchi Narain, the film also touched upon themes of consent, perception and privilege.

Reflecting on the film completing six years, Akansha shared her memories of working on the project and stepping onto a film set for the first time.
“Guilty will always hold a special place in my heart because it was my first film and my first real experience of discovering myself as an actor. Walking onto a set for the first time can be intimidating, but Ruchi Narain created such a safe space that it allowed me to really open up and be vulnerable in my performance. Sharing the screen with Kiara Advani was also wonderful — she was incredibly supportive from day one. We shared such a lovely rapport on set. That film gave me the confidence to keep experimenting with exploring characters and pushing myself as an actor.”
Since her debut, Akansha has taken on varied roles across projects. In Gram Chikitsalay, she portrayed a village girl who is also an educated doctor, offering a contrast to the urban character she played in her first film.
She will next be seen in the upcoming courtroom drama Ikka.
