Shruti Haasan continues her creative streak with ‘Kannakuzhikaaraa’, the latest single from the upcoming Tamil film Train, directed by Mysskin. She also features in the film alongside Vijay Sethupathi. The Tamil track added a distinctive emotional layer to the narrative, reflecting Shruti’s growing body of work in performance-driven cinema where music and acting often converge.
Speaking about her experience working with Mysskin, Shruti shared, “I had a great time working with him. He is a very unique person. He makes you feel liberated and free in the environment of working. He lets you explore.” The collaboration gave her the freedom to approach her performance with instinct and experimentation.
She also provided insight into the nuances of her performance, saying, “How do you hyperventilate without looking like you are hyperventilating? It was really interesting.”
The release of ‘Kannakuzhikaaraa’ followed a notably successful year for Shruti, which included Coolie with Rajinikanth and performing the title track of Varanasi for S.S. Rajamouli under the guidance of M.M. Keeravani. Collaborating with Vijay Sethupathi in Train added another meaningful project to a year marked by artistic range, thoughtful choices, and a seamless balance between music and cinema.
