Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday, director Sameer Vidwans, producers Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shareen Mantri Kerdia attended the trailer launch of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri at a multiplex in Mumbai. This is the first time that Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar have collaborated on a film and they spoke about it. The highlight of the event was when Karan Johar spoke at length, praising Kartik Aaryan.
Karan Johar said, “I was blown away by the level of commitment that Kartik brings to the table. I think he’s very humble about the way he spoke about contribution. He becomes a lead actor, supportive producer and a collaborative assistant director! He becomes everything to the team, from marketing to every single department.”
Kartik smiled as Karan continued, “I don’t know when Kartik Aaryan sleeps. He doesn’t; he’s a vampire! I have received missed calls from him ranging from 1:00 am to 6:00 am. I actually like to sleep! I work very hard but after a point, I shut off. I really want to know when Kartik sleeps! Mera ek sawaal hai– yeh sota kab hai?”
KJo added, “He doesn’t sleep. Yeh jaagta hai apne cinema ke liye aur jeeta hai apne cinema ke liye. I have never seen this level of commitment. The fate of a film is decided on the day of its release. But the journey and process are as important as the result. I have worked with many actors and they all work hard. But he sits quietly yet collaboratively during the composing of background music, editing, etc. He quietly gives his suggestions and always puts his director first. He always puts the film first.”
Karan Johar ended his answer by saying, “I don’t want to praise him behind his back. I’d rather praise him in front of his back! Yeh kamaal ka banda hai. I wish him success because he truly deserves it.”
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri releases in cinemas on December 25.
