Kartik Aaryan had a successful 2022 with the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. While the original featured Akshay Kumar, when the sequel was announced, it received mixed reactions. Following the success of the sequel, it seems like the actor is being approached for more sequels which previously starred Akshay. As Kartik gears up for Shehzada, he reached the sets of Rajat Sharma’s show Aap Ki Adalat where he talked about being approached for sequels.

During an hour-long conversation, when asked why he wants to do sequels for Akshay Kumar’s movies like Hera Pheri and Housefull, Kartik Aaryan replied, “I did not want to do these roles, but I got the offers. Producers and directors feel they can put the sequels on my shoulder. They know how professional I am, and how I can be creatively involved. It’s not that all sequels become hits. There is more pressure to perform in sequels. Maybe they (producers) saw my work, and thought I would perform better in the sequels, from whatever genre, whether horror or comedy.”

On the professional front, Kartik Aaryan will kick off 2023 with Shehzada. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, and Manisha Koirala, among others. It is a remake of Allu Arjun-starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which was released in 2020. The actor also reunites with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 co-star Kiara Advani in Satyaprem Ki Katha. He has Aashiqui 3, and Kabir Khan’s next also in his kitty.
