Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon is set to release in 2023.

Zack Snyder has unveiled another behind-the-scene look at his upcoming sci-fi adventure film Rebel Moon, set at Netflix. The space epic wrapped filming back on December 3. The newly unveiled photo features a practical set with a corridor and stairs leading to an elevated platform where a person is standing surrounded by others seemingly on duty, in front of a massive circular window.

Snyder doesn't shy away from giving updates and feature looks at his Netflix space opera. Previously, he took to social media to offer sneak peeks at the film's costumes, sets, among other things from his space epic.

According to Collider, the film will tell the story of a peaceful space colony threatened by the encroaching forces of the tyrannical ruler Belisarius (Ed Skrein). They place their hopes on a mysterious young woman named Kora (Sofia Boutella) who sets out to gather warriors from across the galaxy to stand against the tyrant's army and resist oppression. It's said to be inspired heavily by the Akira Kurosawa classic Seven Samurai.

Rebel Moon is the first feature to fall under Netflix’s first-look partnership with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller’s under the banner of The Stone Quarry Productions. The film boasts an impressive cast of Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Anthony Hopkins, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Alfonso Herrera, Cleopatra Coleman, Fra Fee, and Rhian Rees.

Based on his and Kurt Johnstad’s (300) story, Snyder wrote the script with Shay Hatten and Johnstad. Snyder is also attached to produce alongside Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller for The Stone Quarry, with Eric Newman for Grand Electric. Bergen Swanson is executive producing alongside Hatten, Johnstad, and Sarah Bowen for Grand Electric, with VP Studio Film Ori Marmur overseeing the project for Netflix.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon is set to release on Netflix in 2023.
