What's common between Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Madhavan and Imran Khan? Well, each of them has a quintessential celebration movie to their name that has a 'shaadi' at the central attraction. Now Tusshar Kapoor too has joined the elite group and has signed a film titled Chaar Din Ki Chandni. Shooting of the film has already begun and Tusshar is with the film's crew in Jodhpur.
"Shah Rukh started the trend with Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge when it came to celebration films that had major sequences set in a household getting ready for a marriage. Quite a few cheap imitations followed but to lesser results. Akshay then tasted success with this genre in Namastey London. In between, Shahid Kapoor struck gold with Jab We Met and Madhavan too did well with Tanu Weds Manu. Now coming weekend Imran would be seen in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. It would be fun to see how Tusshar does in Chaar Din Ki Chandni", says an industry veteran.
It would be all the more interesting to see how the film fares since this would be for the first time in last so many years that the film's director Samir Karnik would be making a film without Deols.
"Yes, though he started off with Kyun Ho Gaya Naa with Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai, ever since then he has being on Deols' side with films like Nanhe Jaisalmer, Heroes and Vaada Raha... I Promise. Though all of them flopped, he struck gold with Yamla Pagla Deewana Ironically, this is the film which is rumoured to have resulted in his fall out with Deols as well. However he has gathered himself up and is now making a film with Tusshar as a solo lead", informs an industry source.
There is something common between Samir's last film and Chaar Din Ki Chandni though i.e. the leading lady. The girl who would be paired opposite Tusshar has been finalised as Kulraj Randhawa. Others in the cast comprise of Anupam Kher, Mukul Dev and Om Puri. The film would be shot across different locations in Rajasthan and Punjab while promising a celebration mood.
On contacted, Tusshar wasn't willing to reveal many details stating that 'it was way too early'. However, he did confirm that the film has a marriage backdrop to it and narrates the tale of those days leading to a wedding. "It's a family entertainer and I look forward to all the fun during the shoot", says Tusshar.
Guess after the sensual adult backdrop of The Dirty Picture, Tusshar won't quite mind getting into a much more family affair.
