One of the longest running shows on Indian television, Kaun Banega Crorepati, which is ana adaptation of the American show Who Wants To Be Millionaire, is now nearing the end of yet another season. With many winning lakhs of money to many celebrities receiving an opportunity to donate to NGOs, the season 10 of the show that kicked off earlier this year, is expected to have Anurag Basu as a guest soon. If reports are to be believed, the Jagga Jasoos and Barfi director will apparently feature in the one of the forthcoming final episodes and here’s what Mr. Bachchan had to say about the filmmaker.

Kaun Banega Crorepati, which has seen guests like Aamir Khan, Kajol, Anushka Sharma, amongst others, will now have Anurag Basu coming to the episode. Like other celebrities, this filmmaker too will be donating the money he earns through the game show to HK Savla who has dedicated his life to cancer patients. Amitabh, who was thrilled with this noble act, was all praises for Basu, who himself has overcome a life-threatening disease.

He appreciated Anurag’s courage and motivation and recalled the time when he was diagnosed with a certain kind of blood cancer way back in 2004. These reports suggest that the director was working on the Emraan Hashmi, Dia Mirza film Tumsa Nahin Dekha when he came across this news. Despite the fact that the doctors had already given an ultimatum of a few months to the filmmaker, Basu never gave up. He bravely fought back cancer and has emerged victorious. According to him, if we treat cancer as any other disease and not as the end of your life, then one can fight back the disease successfully.

Since then, Anurag Basu has been extensively contributing for cancer patients and helping them overcome the disease. Hence, he decided to help Harakchand Savla with the donation made from the money he earned from Kaun Banega Crorepati.
