In six days flat, Judwaa 2 has already collected Rs. 92.02 crore at the Box Office. The film has exceeded expectations in a big way. The weekdays are holding very well too and this can be seen from the fact that Rs. 6.72 crore more came on Wednesday. At least Rs. 6 crore more will come today and that will ensure that the first week will conclude around Rs. 98 crore mark.
A couple of days back, it had seemed that 100 crore may be possible in the first week itself. However even though the numbers would be short by a couple of crore, this is just a formality since overall the collections are looking very healthy. The film has an added advantage of a couple of more open weeks that would definitely cover the differential in a very quick time.
What further goes in favour of the film is the fact that it would have very good run on satellite and online video also. Since families have come in a big way to watch the film in theatres, they would certainly patronise it on the small screen as well. This is how most of the films backed by Sajid Nadiadwala have turned out to be as in most of the cases he has an eye on film’s commercial appeal. This is exactly the conviction that he had in Judwaa 20 years back and now the same has happened in the film’s sequel with David Dhawan.
It would be quite interesting to see what do the veterans make next as quite a few are betting on these experienced men to create something special all over again with their next.
