Bollywood’s 400 Crore Club

Gone are the days when a film’s success was measured by the length of time it ran in theatres for, instead today the success of a film is measured by its box office collections. With this, the way films are presented and marketed have changed drastically with strong emphasis given on maximising box office returns.

Thanks to this, films earning Rs. 100 crore at the box office has become a common norm, with a few managing to go above and beyond by entering the Rs. 200 and Rs. 300 crore clubs. Well after these rather exclusives clubs the recently released film Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion has now established a new benchmark. In fact the film which released a while back has literally broken every record previously set up while also making a foray into the Rs. 400 crore club.

Interestingly, the film becomes the first to enter this highly exclusive club by collecting Rs. 432.80 cr in fifteen days of its release. However, if that wasn’t all, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion has managed to rake in this astronomical sum from its Hindi version only. Going by the current scenario, and the fact that the film’s business doesn’t seem to been slowed down by newer releases, it won’t be long before Baahubali 2 manages to set up a whole new club.
