Sobhita Dhulipala shares pictures from pre-wedding festivities: Pelli Kuthuru : Bollywood News

The internet is abuzz with news on the big Tollywood wedding of actor Naga Chaitanya and actress Sobhita Dhulipala. The latter too has retained the momentum by sharing many pictures from the lavish pre-wedding ceremonies, which has albeit remained an intimate affair. After sharing photos from Raata Stapana and Mangalsnaanam, Sobhita has shared another set of photos from another traditional ceremony called Pelli Kuthuru.

Honoring the traditional Telugu rituals, the couple have ensured that their ceremonies remain rooted to their culture and have refrained from using any of the contemporary customs. The ‘Pelli Kuthuru’, as per reports, marks the end of pre-wedding rituals since after this tradition, the bride and groom are not allowed to move out of the house in order to avoid ‘nazar’ (evil eye). As per stated in the reports, this custom is a prominent in Telugu culture and is not to confused to be Haldi customs. It is being said that in this tradition, the bride is showered with gifts which includes clothes, jewellery, and even sweets. Although it is not like Haldi, the relatives do apply turmeric paste but only on her feet as it signifies purity.

In the photos shared by Sobhita Dhulipala in her ‘Pelli Kuthuru’ album, the happy bride shared glimpses of the ceremony including the one where the elders do her aarti, of her posing with the authentic red colour glass bangles (which are customary bangles to be worn by the new bride in certain communities) including some frame-worthy pictures with her sister Samantha and her husband Sahil Gupta.

For the unversed, Sobhita and Naga Chaitanya are expected to tie the knot in a long Telugu ceremony on December 4 at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. Along with a few close friends from the fraternity, the wedding will be attended by Akkineni, Daggubati, and Dhulipala family members and relatives.
