Sivakarthikeyan is all set to collaborate with acclaimed filmmaker AR Murugadoss for the first time in the upcoming action thriller Dil Madharasi aka Madharasi. Produced by Sri Lakshmi Movies, the film is slated for a pan-India release on September 5, 2025, and has already generated significant anticipation among audiences.
The makers recently shared a glimpse from the set on social media, captioning it, “Big week. Important week. It begins #Madharaasi – in theatres from September 5.” The teaser has fuelled excitement for Sivakarthikeyan’s intense action avatar, while also highlighting the scale and cinematic spectacle expected from the project. The film features cinematography by Sudeep Elamon, while music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, known for his work on blockbuster films including Beast, Vikram, Jailer, Jawan, and Indian 2. AR Murugadoss, celebrated for directing action films with social themes, is said to bring his signature style to the project, having previously helmed hits like Ghajini, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, and Kaththi.
The project marks Sivakarthikeyan and Murugadoss's second collaboration, after the former's Tamil debut with Marina (2012), as Murugadoss previously worked as producer and co-writer in the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Maan Karate (2014).
Dil Madharasi also boasts a strong supporting cast, including Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Shabeer, and Vikranth. The film’s editing is handled by Sreekar Prasad, with action choreography by Kevin and Dhilip Masters, ensuring high-octane sequences and cinematic finesse.
