Samantha Ruth Prabhu and her ex-mother-in-law, Amala Akkineni, attended the Zee Telugu Awards recently. Though they did not interact publicly, a video of Amala reacting to Samantha’s emotional speech has gone viral.
In a recently released Instagram promotional video, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is seen receiving an award at the Zee Telugu Apsara Awards, celebrating her 15-year journey in the Telugu film industry since her debut in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s 2010 film Ye Maaya Chesave, where she also met her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya. During the ceremony, Samantha expressed her gratitude to the audience for their continued love and support. Notably, her ex-mother-in-law, Amala Akkineni, was seen applauding proudly from the audience, reflecting her support for Samantha’s milestone achievement.

Zee Telugu shared a promotional video for the upcoming awards night, scheduled to air on their channel on May 24 at 5:30 pm. Posting on social media, the channel stated, “S is for Samantha, S is for Success — Celebrating 15 glorious years of Samantha on the Apsara Awards stage!”
In the video, Samantha is seen cutting a tiered cake and celebrating the milestone with the hosts on stage. During her speech, she stated, “The Telugu (film) industry has given me everything. Ide naa karma bhumi (This is where I belong). I promise to always put the Telugu audience first.” The camera then shifts to Amala, who is smiling broadly and applauding her.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who separated from Naga Chaitanya in 2021, is rumored to be dating filmmaker Raj Nidimoru. The rumors started in February after Samantha shared photos with Raj from a World Pickleball League match, where she owns the Chennai Super Champs team. In one photo, she was seen holding his hand, sparking further speculation. Recently, Samantha also shared pictures celebrating her debut production, Subham, featuring Raj. Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya is now married to actress Sobhita Dhulipala.
On the work front, in 2024, Samantha starred in the Raj & DK web series Citadel: Honey Bunny on Prime Video and is set to appear in their upcoming Netflix series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom. She has also ventured into production with her company Tralala Moving Pictures, releasing her debut film Subham this year. Additionally, Samantha both produces and stars in Maa Inti Bangaram.
