There’s been strong buzz online suggesting that Samantha Ruth Prabhu will join Naga Chaitanya in promoting their iconic romantic film Ye Maaya Chesave ahead of its theatrical re-release on July 18. However, fans hoping for a reunion may need to dial down their expectations. Samantha has officially denied any involvement in the film’s promotions. “No, I am not promoting Ye Maaya Chesave with anyone. In fact, I’m not promoting the film at all,” Samantha clarified. “I don’t know where this talk is coming from. Maybe fans of the film want to see the lead pair together. But one can’t live one’s life through the audience’s lensing of life.”
Despite the speculation, Samantha fondly recalls her experience filming the romantic classic that launched her into stardom. “The first film I shot was Moscowin Kavery, and it was with my best friend to date, Rahul Ravindran. Actually, that film is a blur to me. I don't remember much because we would shoot one day, then have long breaks, and then shoot again—it just became a blur.”
She continued, “But the second film I shot, Ye Maaya Chesave, I really remember every single shot. The first shot I did for that film was at the gate, with my character Jessie meeting Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) for the first time. And I remember everything about it—every single detail. It was fantastic working with Gautham Menon, who knew exactly what he wanted and how the character should come across.”
