Beyond her work in films, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is also active as an entrepreneur. Two of her investments, Nourish You and Urban Kissan, have recently secured funding. Her association with a brand adds credibility and can help attract investor interest.

Having been someone who’s followed her instincts and chosen to align with brands that stand true to her own belief system, Samantha proves to be breaking ground everywhere she goes. The new round of funding comes as a huge boost to these brands that have deservedly showcased their own potential and earned themselves the support and investment.

Talking about how she feels and what drives her an investor, Samantha said, “This journey as an entrepreneur has been such a beautiful, consuming and educative one. It’s a world so different from what we do and to see people going out there and put everything at stake for what they believe in is just incredible. Over time, I realized the kind of partners and brands I’d like to align with - those that walk the talk and contribute positively to the world we live in. Nourish You and UrbanKissan fell right in that sweet spot and these results are all down to the dynamic individuals steering the ships and their teams”.

Nourish You has raised ₹16 crore (about $1.8 million) in its Series A funding round, led by SIDBI Venture Capital. The startup plans to use the funds to scale operations, improve customer retention, and expand into markets like Australia, Europe, and the US. Founded in 2015 by Krishna Reddy, Rakesh Kilaru, and Sowmya Reddy, Nourish You offers superfoods and protein-based products through its website, e-commerce platforms, and quick commerce services.

Urban Kisaan, founded in 2017 by Sairam Reddy, Srinivas Chaganti, and Vihari Kanukollu, has been recognized among the top 20 agriculture startups funded by Y Combinator. The company focuses on sustainable farming, using minimal water and land to grow nutrient-rich produce while expanding its network of local farms globally.
