On the occasion of Ram Pothineni’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming film #RAPO22 unveiled its official title — Andhra King Taluka. Directed by Mahesh Babu P, known for Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, the film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. The project stars Ram Pothineni in the lead alongside Bhagyashree Borse, with Kannada superstar Upendra in a key role.

The title reveal glimpse has been well received for its nostalgic tone and its celebration of early 2000s cinema culture. It opens with a scene outside a packed theatre, buzzing with fans trying to secure tickets for a film featuring a superstar named Andhra King Surya Kumar. Amid the chaos, Ram makes a power-packed entry on a bicycle, confidently asking for 50 tickets “on behalf of the Andhra King’s fans, showcasing his avatar as a devoted admirer as he strikes a heroic pose before a giant cutout of his idol, accompanied by fireworks.

Interestingly, while Ram, who is a popular actor himself, plays a fan, with a hint of transformation in his look for the part. Upendra, though not featured in the glimpse, is revealed to be playing the superstar that Ram's character idolizes.

Mahesh Babu P is expected to have added enough elements of humour and emotion to the narrative, focusing on the bond between fans and the cinema they love with it recreating the vibe of small-town theatres in the early 2000s. The glimpse aims at showcasing the excitement surrounding the first day first show — a ritual cherished by moviegoers.

The technical crew includes cinematographer Siddhartha Nuni with music composed by Vivek–Merwin and editing by National Award-winner Sreekar Prasad along with production design by Avinash Kolla.

Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, with Cherry serving as CEO, the cast includes Ram Pothineni, Bhagyashree Borse, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Satya, Rahul Ramakrishna, and VTV Ganesh, among others. With a nostalgic setting and a unique take on stardom and fandom, Andhra King Taluka is said to be an emotional yet entertaining cinematic journey.
