From Ram Charan to Mammootty to Parvathy, South Indian artists express grief after Irrfan Khan passes away : Bollywood News

Irrfan Khan started his career in 1988 with Mira Nair's film Salaam Bombay. However, the following few years his career did not pan out the way he wanted. Things changed for the actor in the early 2000s when he started getting better projects and even played some brilliant roles in the west. Though he did not do films in the South barring one Telugu film, the actor is fondly remembered by every Indian artist from the film industry. He was also part of the Bollywood debut of Malayalam actors Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy in Karwaan and Qarib Qarib Single respectively.

As the country mourns his loss, several artists from the South Film industry took to social media to express their grief and share their memories with him

A sad and huge loss to our film fraternity. A great and natural actor who was loved by audiences across the world. I had the pleasure of sharing a stage with him for an event and I remember the conversations and warmth we shared.
