At the promotional event of the upcoming Tamil film Madharaasi in Hyderabad, producer Prasaad NV of Sri Lakshmi Movies took a moment to reflect on the inspiring journey of actress Rukmini, who has quickly risen from being a promising newcomer to one of the most sought-after leading ladies in Indian cinema.

“When we first brought Rukmini on board for Madharaasi, she was an emerging talent,” Prasaad NV shared. “Today, she stands as the leading lady in Kantara: Chapter 1, directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Hombale Films. Her trajectory doesn’t stop there; she also plays the heroine in the multilingual project Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups alongside Yash, and is paired opposite Jr. NTR in a pan-Indian film directed by Prashanth Neel.”

The producer also pointed out that Rukmini’s packed schedule reflects her rising demand across industries. “Following the Madharaasi promotions, Rukmini will immediately be joining the promotional campaign for Kantara: Chapter 1, a reflection of her growing stature and demand across industries,” he added.

Rukmini also has an interesting slate of projects which not only includes Madharaasi, she headlines Kantara: Chapter 1, the highly anticipated prequel to the blockbuster Kantara franchise, directed by Rishab Shetty. The film is expected to delve deeper into the folklore and mysticism that made the original a cultural phenomenon.

She will also be seen in NTRNEEL, a much-awaited pan-Indian action drama that marks the collaboration between Jr. NTR and blockbuster director Prashanth Neel of KGF and Salaar fame. The pairing of Rukmini with Jr. NTR has already generated massive buzz, setting high expectations for the project.

Adding another feather to her cap, Rukmini is cast opposite Yash in Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups, an ambitious multilingual venture directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film promises a bold, unconventional narrative blending fantasy and gritty realism.
