Known for blending real martial arts into his film roles, Pawan Kalyan’s foundation in the discipline was laid under the late Shihan Hussaini, a highly regarded martial arts guru.

Renshi Raja, who was already a black belt when Pawan was still a green belt, now heads the very martial arts school they once trained at together. Their recent meeting became a moment of nostalgia, as both men reflected on their shared roots and their bond with their late mentor.

Pawan Kalyan took to social media to express his emotions on reconnecting with Renshi Raja. In his post, he praised his senior for carrying forward Shihan Hussaini’s legacy with dedication and discipline. “It was a great pleasure and honor to reconnect with Thiru Renshi Raja Avl. from Tamil Nadu after 34 years. He was my senior in the early 1990s, training under the guidance of Shihan Hussaini Avl. at the same karate school. At that time, Renshi Raja was already a black belt holder while I was still a green belt. It’s heartening to see him now leading the very school where we trained, carrying forward Shihan’s vision with dedication. Recalling our long-standing association with Shihan Hussaini and discussing our shared passion for martial arts brought back many cherished memories,” he wrote.

The post struck a chord with fans and quickly went viral, with many appreciating the actor’s humility and respect for his roots. The reunion photo has been widely circulated, stirring nostalgia among fans familiar with Pawan Kalyan’s martial arts background.
