Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) handle, Nayanthara wrote, “Happiest Birthday dearest #Thalapathy @actorvijay. Have a great year ahead. Best wishes for #JanaNayagan.” The duo has shared screen space in several films over the years, including Sivakasi (2005) and Villu (2009), which was directed by Prabhu Deva. While Villu didn’t receive much critical acclaim, it was a notable collaboration that brought them back together on screen.

The makers of Jana Nayagan, Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film, announced the release of the highly awaited “First Roar” on June 22, aligning with the actor’s birthday. This teaser has generated significant buzz, as Jana Nayagan is set to be Vijay’s final film before he steps away from cinema to pursue a full-time career in politics. The actor recently completed shooting for the film, marking the end of an era in his cinematic journey.

Sharing the exciting update on X, production house KVN Productions wrote, “A lion is always a lion and his first roar is incoming June 22 | 12.00 AM #JanaNayaganTheFirstRoar #JanaNayagan.” This marks one of the first official updates from the team about the film. The announcement was accompanied by a striking poster featuring Thalapathy Vijay’s silhouette, adding to the anticipation surrounding his final cinematic outing before his full-time political debut.

Jana Nayagan is slated for a grand worldwide release on January 9, 2026. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the film is positioned as a cinematic spectacle. Anticipation is sky-high, as it marks the farewell project of Thalapathy Vijay—one of Tamil cinema’s most iconic and celebrated stars—before he transitions fully into his political career.

On the work front, Nayanthara and Chiranjeevi are reportedly teaming up once again for their upcoming film, tentatively titled Mega157. According to 123 Telugu, the shoot has already commenced in Mussoorie. This project marks their third collaboration, following their previous appearances together in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (2019) and Godfather (2022), both of which featured them in prominent roles.

Nayanthara was last seen in the thriller Test, where she starred alongside R. Madhavan and Siddharth. The film premiered on Netflix. Looking ahead, she has a packed lineup of projects, including Yash’s highly anticipated Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups, Mannanagatti: Since 1960, Dear Students, Mookuthi Amman 2, and Rakkiye, showcasing her continued dominance across diverse genres in Indian cinema.
