Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has responded to the strong reception of his latest film, Kuberaa, which released in theatres on June 20. The bilingual Tamil-Telugu thriller, directed by Sekhar Kammula, has received positive reviews and is seeing encouraging numbers at the box office across India and overseas.

Starring Nagarjuna alongside Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh, Kuberaa has been praised for its performances and direction. The film opened to solid word-of-mouth, which has contributed to its early commercial success.

Nagarjuna, who plays the role of Deepak, described as a man caught in a complex web of power and ethical dilemmas, shared his thoughts on the film’s reception. "I'm overwhelmed with the love coming my way for Kuberaa. Deepak will remain one of my most special characters. Looking at the audiences’ love, the reviews, and the box office response, I am just so touched. I've been fortunate to work across Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films and to get this love today, even after four decades of my career, is truly humbling. I'm proud of what team Kuberaa pulled off, and I am thankful to the entire cast and crew," Nagarjuna said in a statement.

Kuberaa continues Nagarjuna’s involvement in multilingual projects, adding to a career that spans four decades across multiple Indian film industries. He has been part of a wide range of collaborations over the years—from senior figures like his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) and Krishna, to prominent names in Bollywood including Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, and Anil Kapoor.

The actor has also worked alongside Tamil legends like Rajinikanth, and in recent years, shared screen space with younger stars such as Naga Chaitanya, Nani, Karthi, Ranbir Kapoor, and now Dhanush in Kuberaa.

Following Kuberaa, Nagarjuna will next be seen in Rajinikanth starrer Coolie, a film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is expected to release in August. The film is said to feature him in a key role, though details about his character remain under wraps.

With Kuberaa performing well both critically and commercially, the actor’s next steps will be closely followed by fans and the industry alike.
