Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya officially announced their separation a couple of days ago ending their four-year-old marriage. However, Naga Chaitanya is not the first in his family filled with film artists to taste separation in a romantic relationship. All generations of the Akkineni family have gone through separation and divorce in one way or the other.

Nagarjuna and Lakshmi Daggubati's divorce

Nagarjuna married the daughter of Telugu producer Dr. D. Ramanaidu's daughter Lakshmi Daggubti in February 1984. She is also the sister of actor Venkatesh and producer Suresh Babu. The couple was in a relationship for six years before they decided to get divorced in 1990. They are parenst to Naga Chaitanya. Nagarjuna later married actress Amala in 1992 and the couple has a son named Akhil Akkineni who is now an actor in the Telugu film industry.

Sumanth Yarlagadda and Keerthy Reddy's separation

Nagarjuna's nephew, Sumanth Yarlagadda got married to former actress Keerthy Reddy in 2004. However, their marriage lasted only for two years and they decided to part ways in 2006. While Keerthy remarried, Sumanth has been single since then.

Akhil Akkineni calls off his wedding

While Akhil Akkineni, Nagarjuna's younger son never got married, he was once engaged to fashion designer Shriya Bhupal Reddy. She is the granddaughter of business tycoon GV Krishna Reddy. The marriage was called off a year later by the Reddies and she got married to Anindith Reddy. Akhil is currently single and busy with his work commitments.
