Sikhya Entertainment, the acclaimed production house led by Oscar-winner Guneet Monga Kapoor and producer Achin Jain, has announced a major collaboration with celebrated Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. Marking the first partnership between the two creative powerhouses, the upcoming Tamil feature film commenced shooting today in Madurai, following a traditional pooja ceremony.
Sikhya Entertainment has built an impressive global reputation over the years, delivering films that are rooted in Indian storytelling yet resonate worldwide. The company is behind The Elephant Whisperers, India’s first Oscar-winning documentary short, as well as widely celebrated films such as The Lunchbox, Masaan, Pagglait, and the National Award-winning Kathal. Known for championing authentic voices and nurturing new talent, Sikhya continues to back content-driven cinema with global appeal.
On the other side of this collaboration stands Karthik Subbaraj, one of the most original and inventive filmmakers from contemporary Tamil cinema. The new project marks his 10th feature film. His diverse filmography—spanning Pizza, Jigarthanda, Petta, Iraivi, Mercury, Jagame Thanthiram, Mahaan, Jigarthanda DoubleX and Retro—has earned him both critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base, thanks to his unique blend of craft, innovation, and mass appeal.
