FIR registered against Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh and other Daggubati family members for illegal demolition : Bollywood News

Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh Daggubati and a few other family members have been charged under multiple sections of the IPC for allegedly illegally demolishing a hotel in January last year. According to the accusations, the Daggubati family destroyed the building in blatant disregard of a City Civil Court injunction and a Telangana High Court directive to maintain the status quo.

What are the accusations on the Daggubati family

The accused in the Daggubati family include producer Daggubati Suresh and his son and popular actor Rana Daggubati, his brother Daggubati Abhiram, and Telugu superstar Venkatesh Daggubati. The family has been charged under 448, 452, 458, sections of the Indian Penal Code which all come under trespassing including intent to harm and house-breaking. They have also been charged with section 120B which insists that the party who assisted in this criminal conspiracy is liable to this punishment.

About the case

Nanda Kumar filed this case against Daggubati family after the latter allegedly were involved in demolishing The Deccan Kitchen Hotel in Film Nagar in January last year. It was a property leased to Kumar by the Daggubati family but a portion of the same was destroyed by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in November 2022, citing illegal construction. GHMC got involved in the matter when Kumar was accused of poaching the MLAs of Telangana Rashtra Samithi which resulted in legal implications.

Kumar approached the court last year after the demolition stating that he incurred a loss of Rs. 20 crores because of them. This prompted the Hyderabad court to take actin against the Daggubati family wherein they have directed the police to register a case regarding the matter. While the proceedings kicked off on Saturday, there has been no official statement from the Daggubati family.
