EXCLUSIVE: Adivi Sesh on 3-year gap before the release of Dacoit, “I’d rather be seen in something good than something that just fills the time” : Bollywood News

The release date of Adivi Sesh’s keenly awaited Dacoit: A Love Story was revealed at the end of May through an interesting first glimpse video. The film, which also stars Mrunal Thakur, will be arriving in theatres on December 25 this year.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Adivi spoke about the thought behind the video. He said, “We had to announce the release date and it was too early for a teaser or a trailer, and we didn’t want to do a motion poster, so it’s sort of its own thing! A beautiful messy mix of the three with my character’s revenge towards Mrunal’s Juliet! Or is it love? Who knows!”

Adivi is all praise for Mrunal for her qualities, especially the one he finds extraordinary. “(She is a) lovely person and a lovely actor. Truly gives it her all and is constantly trying to better herself every day, as an actor, as an artist and as a human being. She’s also figured out a way to get into zen mode no matter where she is, which is extraordinary,” he said.

Adivi was last seen in a cameo in HIT: The Third Case. But his last film in a full-fledged role was HIT: The Second Case, which had released in 2022. When asked whether he feels the pressure to be seen more frequently on screen, he said, “I definitely do but I’d rather be seen in something good than something that just fills the time until the next movie to watch. I’ve been hard at work these last couple of years bringing Dacoit and G2 (Goodachari 2) to fruition.”

The first film in the Goodachari franchise was a thriller but it also had its emotional moments. “I think G2 is high on excitement. Dacoit is high on emotions,” said Adivi.
