GodFather starring Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan is gearing up for its grand release in Telugu and Hindi on the 5th of this month on Dussehra. The promotions are in full swing for the movie. Today, they released the Hindi trailer of the movie grandly in presence of Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan, Satya Dev and a few others in Mumbai. At the trailer launch, Chiranjeevi was asked about his son Ram Charan’s film RRR with Jr. NTR getting all the Oscar buzz.
SS Rajamouli is currently in the US doing several screenings for RRR as the Oscar buzz around the film is immense. While it was selected as India’s official entry for Best International Feature, the film’s US distributors will be submitting the film in multiple categories.
At the press conference, Chiranjeevi said, “It is a proud moment for me. I am very happy. This kind of day should come and it is not because of Charan also, it is a collective effort. Rajamouli, through that film, through the actors is trying to hit the bull’s eye and get the attention. If there is a possibility of Oscars, it is a proud moment for me.”
Chiranjeevi also said that it is so good to see South cinema not only becoming a pan-India success but also receiving global acceptance. He said, “Long ago, I tried coming to Hindi films with a film named Pratibandh and then followed it with The Gentleman, Aaj Ka Goonda Raaj. At that time, I don’t know there was a separation between regional and national films. After that, I tried but I was so busy I had to concentrate on Telugu films. I was away from Hindi films. I always wanted to see, there should be one film that has an Indian feeling. There is no regional but Indian film. It is my strong wish that day should come.”
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi is gearing up for GodFather starring Nayanthara, Salman Khan, Satya Dev and more. Directed by Mohan Raja, it will release on October 5, 2022.
