As the action-packed Telugu film Sarrainodu marked its ninth anniversary on Tuesday, actors Allu Arjun and Rakul Preet Singh celebrated the milestone with a heartwarming exchange on Instagram, sparking nostalgia among fans.

Rakul Preet Singh, who played the female lead in the Boyapati Srinu-directed film, shared a clip from Sarrainodu on her Instagram Story with the caption - “It feels like yesterday... Such special sweet memories attached to this one”. Her message struck a chord with fans, many of whom remember the 2016 film for its stylized action, strong performances, and commercially successful run.

Allu Arjun, who essayed the lead role of Gana, an ex-army man who takes the law into his own hands, responded by reposting Rakul’s story and writing simply, “My Fav”. Rakul later replied with another repost, echoing the sentiment, “My Fav too”. The short but sweet interaction quickly gained traction online, with fans celebrating the duo’s camaraderie.

Directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by Allu Aravind under Geetha Arts, Sarrainodu was one of the biggest box office hits of 2016. The film featured Allu Arjun in a high-energy role opposite Rakul Preet Singh, with a supporting cast that included Aadhi Pinisetty, Catherine Tresa, Srikanth, and Brahmanandam. Aadhi Pinisetty played the antagonist, contributing to the film’s dramatic intensity. The soundtrack, composed by S. Cinematography was handled by Rishi Punjabi, while Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao took charge of the editing. The storyline was loosely inspired by the 2004 American action film Walking Tall, reimagined with a local flavor and action-heavy treatment. Even nearly a decade later, Sarrainodu continues to enjoy popularity among audiences, with the lead actors' recent online exchange adding another sentimental layer to the film’s enduring legacy.
