Taxi Driver to return for Season 3 with cast and crew in discussions; season 2 ends on highest ratings

South Korean hit drama Taxi Driver, which recently ended its second season on highest ratings, is confirmed to return with a third season! The production team is currently discussing the cast members' return for Season 3, and the filming schedule remains undecided.

According to the Korean tabloid Soompi, on April 16, after Taxi Driver 2 aired its season finale, the producers of the show announced that Taxi Driver 3 was already in the works. Franchise star Lee Je Hoon has previously expressed his hopes of returning for another season of the hit drama.

“Taxi Driver was recently confirmed for a Season 3,” a representative shared. “We plan to start discussions with the actors, writer, and director from now on.” Taxi Driver revolves around Rainbow Taxi Company and the taxi driver, Do Gi, who delivers justice that Korean society has lost by seeking revenge on criminals who get away with their evil deeds.

Based on The Deluxe Taxi by Carlos and Lee Jae Jin, the first season saw Lee Je Hoon starring alongside Esom, Kim Eui Sung, Cha Ji Yeon, Bae Yoo Ram, Jang Hyuk Jin and Pyo Ye Jin.

In February 2022, the hit drama made a comeback with its second season. It not only surpassed the viewership ratings of the first season but also achieved the highest ratings of any miniseries to air in 2022.
