Jason Momoa starrer Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom’s release date has been changed by DC Studios again! The sequel’s release date has been moved up five days from its original December 25, 2023, release to December 20, 2023.
According to Collider, the sequel was one of the many films that suffered production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic due to which Warner had rescheduled the film for March 17, 2023. However, Lost Kingdom underwent another release date shakeup when in August 2022 the date was pushed backward to Christmas Day 2023.
With the new release date, the film will now face off with films like Sony’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel and Illumination Studios' animated film, Migration at the box office. The sequel will see Momoa return in the titular role with Amber Heard alongside Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, and Nicole Kidman.
James Wan will direct from a script provided by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Based on the trailer of the movie, Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) appears to be teaming up with Orm also known as Ocean Master (Patrick Wilson), in fighting David Kane aka Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom arrives in theaters on December 20, 2023.
