EXCLUSIVE: CBFC removes two 'obscene' words from Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning; 'b***h', 'b*****d' VOLUNTARILY muted

After a dry week, the box office is all set to be up and running in a few days. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, starring Tom Cruise, will release on Saturday, May 17 and the excitement is tremendous due the popularity of the franchise and the lead actor. Moreover, it is the last part of the series which is going on since 19 years. In this article, Bollywood Hungama will focus on the cut list of the action entertainer.

The good news is that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has not asked for a single visual cut. Hence, all the action and intimate scenes have been left untouched. However, the CBFC asked the studio to mute two ‘obscene’ words from the audio and subtitles at 2 hours and 5 minutes and at 2 hours and 34 minutes.

In addition, the studio, Viacom18, have voluntarily muted two words, b***h and b*****d, wherever they occurred.

After these changes were made, the CBFC passed Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning with a U/A 13+ certificate on May 9. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate is 169.07 minutes. In other words, the film is 2 hours 49 minutes and 7 seconds long. This makes Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning the longest film of the series. The earlier film, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One (2023), had a run time of 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The film was originally scheduled to be released on May 23 but last month, it’s release was preponed to May 17. The advance booking opened on May 9 and has received an encouraging response.
