Director Christopher Landon praises Meghann Fahy’s performance in Drop; says, “Meghann’s portrayal of Daphne in White Lotus blew my mind”

Universal Pictures, in association with Warner Bros. Discovery, will release Drop on April 11, 2025. Directed by Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity 3), the thriller follows a date night that takes an unexpected and harrowing turn. The film stars Emmy nominee Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us), and is produced by Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes. Early reviews have called it “an efficient thrill ride” and “an unpretentious thriller.”

Drop follows Violet (Meghann Fahy), a widowed mother taking a chance on love again. She’s excited when her date, Henry (Brandon Sklenar), turns out to be as charming as she hoped. But as the evening unfolds, anonymous messages begin to appear on her phone—at first unsettling, then increasingly threatening. What seems like a disturbing prank quickly spirals into a dangerous situation, where everyone in the restaurant could be a suspect—or the next target. The trailer hints at rising tension, with glimpses of Violet’s fear and a chilling face-off that raises questions about Henry’s true identity. As the messages keep coming, Violet must uncover the truth before it’s too late.

While talking about Emmy Nominee Meghan Fahy, renowned for The Perfect Couple, takes on the lead role in Drop, Director Christopher Landon shared, “Meghann’s portrayal of Daphne in White Lotus blew my mind.” Landon further added, “She was so expressive and commanded so much attention just sitting at a table. I thought, if she can do that, she will be able to do the same in this role.”

Drop hits theatres on April 11, 2025, offering a suspenseful thriller for audiences this spring.
