Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick’s A Simple Favor sequel to begin production this fall

Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick starrer dark-comedy A Simple Favor’s sequel will reportedly commence its production this fall. According to People tabloid, the sequel is in advanced negotiations to begin production this fall, per a source. The Amazon Studios and Lionsgate picture will be set in Capri, Italy for the duo's new twisted game of deceit. Most, if not all, of the supporting cast from the first film will also return, the source shared.

As per the official synopsis, “A Simple Favor centers around Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), a mommy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily's (Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town.”

After a critical and commercial success, A Simple Favor team of Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively and director Paul Feig were confirmed to return for a sequel in May 2022. The sequel comes from Lionsgate and Amazon Studios. The 2018 black comedy was based on a 2017 novel of the same name by Darcey Bell.

Paul Feig will return to direct the sequel and produce alongside Laura Fischer. Jessica Sharzer, who wrote the first film, will write the screenplay and executive produce. Feigco Entertainment will also produce the film. Meredith Wieck and Scott O’Brien are overseeing the project for Lionsgate.
