Zahan Kapoor on getting into acting, “I never believed I knew it all, and that’s why I was scared” : Bollywood News

Zahan Kapoor, cousin of Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who starred in Vikramaditya Motwane’s thriller series Black Warrant, recently spoke to PTI (Press Trust of India). Even though he comes from the Kapoor family, which has been part of the Indian film industry for almost 100 years, the actor admitted that he felt scared because of the weight of his family legacy when he was starting his career.

Zahan Kapoor said he worked with a diction coach to learn the Hindi accent of a middle-class Delhi family for Black Warrant. Despite his film family background, his parents, Kunal Kapoor and Sheena Sippy, told him to work hard without relying on anyone. He admitted to feeling extra pressure because of his family lineage and said his parents made it clear he would have to find his own way.

“I never believed I knew it all. And that’s why I was scared when I was getting into this field. I have tried to learn everything, and that is an ongoing process. I realized that there are many dangers and I should trust myself more than others… Aur uske liye main prayaas karoon, abhyaas karoon aur jitna ho sake apne aap ko taiyyar karoon”, he said.

Zahan said that as a child, he didn’t know how to speak Hindi. He got into acting after he started doing theatre at around 18 or 19. He believes that language is an important tool for an actor and he has a strong interest in literature and poetry. He also mentioned that he often reads, especially in Devanagari, to improve his imagination and treats it like riyaaz (practice).
