Director: Prakash Jha

Synopsis:
EK BADNAAM AASHRAM SEASON 3 PART 2 is the story of a corrupt Godman. After the events of the last season, Baba Nirala Kashipur Waale (Bobby Deol) announces to the court that he has castrated himself. Hence, he claims that there's no way he could have raped Parminder aka Pammi (Aaditi Pohankar). Pammi, meanwhile, is arrested on false charges while Baba Nirala is acquitted. Pammi gets a chance to meet Baba Nirala and she expresses regret over her actions. Baba Nirala, who still lusts for her, forgives her and asks the police to arrange for her bail. After her bail is granted, she is transferred to the Aashram on Baba's orders. Bhopa Swami (Chandan Roy Sanyal) is aghast with this development and he ensures that she and Baba don't meet each other. Pammi pretends to be an ardent devotee of Baba Nirala and everyone around her assumes that she has had a change of heart. But she still plans to exact revenge. She implements her plan by attracting Bhopa and creating a divide between him and Baba Nirala. What happens next forms the rest of the series.

Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 Story Review:
PJP Team's story is better and also crisp this time. PJP Team's screenplay has a few minus points but overall, it's engaging. PJP Team's dialogues (additional dialogues by Sanjay Masoom) are conversational yet impactful.

Prakash Jha's direction is mainstream. He continues to treat the show like a mass-appealing film and that's a major reason why this show found resonance with a large number of audience. The earlier two seasons had gotten a bit slow and dragging. This one is like a mini-series and has just 5 episodes, with a collective run time of not more than 3.30 hours. And this time, a lot happens in the show that keeps the viewers hooked. In the new season, one also finally gets to know the origins of Baba Nirala aka Monty and how he managed to turn himself into a Godman. All episodes end on a high, which will prompt viewers to check out the next episode.

On the flipside, there are too many cinematic liberties. It is bewildering that no one got a whiff about Pammi and Bhopa's affair since the Aashram is fully secured. Though the intimate scenes are inserted for a purpose, a few of them go on and on, at times, needlessly, as if the purpose was to titillate viewers more. The last episode moves at a razor-sharp speed. It gives the impression that the makers quickly wanted to end the show.

Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 Performances:
Bobby Deol once again impresses with his performance of Baba Nirala. This is a role that started his new innings and hence, it remains special even for his admirers. Bobby understands its worth and does justice. He’s especially great in the climax. Aaditi Pohankar is a powerhouse of talent and the way she switches from being a Baba devotee to a Baba hater is seen to be believed. Chandan Roy Sanyal steals this show, more so in the last two episodes. Tridha Choudhury (Babita), Parinitaa Seth (Sadhavi Mata) and Darshan Kumaar (Ujagar Singh) lend able support. Vikram Kochhar (Sadhu Sharma) and Anil Rastogi (Sundar Lal) are wasted terribly. Rajeev Siddhartha (Akki) and Sachin Shroff (Hukum Singh) are fair. Preeti Sood (Sanober) gets no scope but her character drives the plot. Khan Jahangir Khan (Michael), Pradeep Kuckreja (Baba Mansukh), Nidhi Dewan (Lawyer Sunita) and Devi Shankar (Dr Sharan) are decent.

Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 music and other technical aspects:
There’s only one song, 'Baba Garibo Wale', and it's well-woven. Advait Nemlekar's background score is great, especially in the intimate scenes. Chandan Kowli's cinematography is neat. Priyanka Mundada's costumes and the production design are a bit theatrical and yet, satisfactory. Santosh Mandal's editing is functional.

Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 Conclusion:
On the whole, EK BADNAAM AASHRAM SEASON 3 PART 2 is better than the previous two seasons and works due to the dramatic developments and twists and turns. Due to the insane popularity of the series, the new season is bound to get a huge viewership.
