Vicky Kaushal and brother Sunny Kaushal’s strange illegal immigrant similarity in 2 different films (SPOILERS alert) 2 : Bollywood News

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki was released last Friday after a lot of anticipation. The film mainly stars Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. But it also has Vicky Kaushal playing a special cameo as Sukhi. Despite the limited screen time, the actor has succeeded in getting applause for his character. Interestingly, Vicky’s character in the film bears some strange similarity with his brother Sunny Kaushal’s character in an earlier film.

Dunki saw Vicky play a Punjabi who is madly in love with a girl who has migrated to England and is married to an NRI over there. Hence, he becomes desperate to visit the European country in order to win her love. As he is unable to get Visa, he decides to visit England through the donkey method, which is through an illegal route by crossing borders of a number of countries. He joins the troupe of Hardy (SRK), Manu (Taapsee), Buggu (Vikram Kochhar) and Balli (Anil Grover), who are all set to enter England through that method.

In Kunal Deshmukh’s Shiddat, which was released in 2021, Sunny Kaushal played a Punjabi character Jaggi, a hockey player. He falls in love with Kartika (Radhika Madan), a swimmer. But he gets shocked when the girl reveals that she is soon getting married in England. Kartika soon leaves for the foreign country to get married. Jaggi, who is madly in love with her, decides to enter England through an illegal route by crossing the borders of various countries, as he is unable to get Visa.

In other words, in both the films, Kaushal brothers play Punjabis who decide to visit England illegally for the girl they love. Both the girls are someone else’s partners. But the similarities don’t end here. In both the films, Vicky and Sunny die in their pursuit of visiting England illegally. Despite the basic plot of Dunki and Shiddat being way different, both the Kaushal brothers playing characters with such similar traits and journeys is strange and interesting.
