Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has been staying away from Bollywood and enjoying her quality time with husband Anand Ahuja and their new-born son Vayu. The actress, who was in London at her luxurious residence in the England capital, returned to Mumbai recently and has already been attending some of the biggest events in the city. From the Dior fashion show to the grand red carpet of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Culture Centre, the actress was seen making some stylish appearances. And now it seems that her wedding lehenga too has become iconic as it gets a lavish display at the NMACC.
Readers would be aware that the inauguration ceremony was attended by some of the biggest stars from the entertainment industry of India as well as international. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s wedding lehenga seems to have received a great honor by receiving a special display on April 3. The actress had adorned a beautiful red and gold traditional lehenga during her wedding with Anand Ahuja, which was held in Mumbai on May 8, 2018. The beautiful lehenga was put together by popular Indian designer Anuradha Vakil in her Ahmedabad studio.
Coming to her lehenga work, it was earlier reported that it took the workers six months to complete the outfit owing to its extensive embroidery. In an interview with Vogue Magazine, Anuradha Vakil had opened up about creating this special lehenga for her friend Sonam Kapoor saying, “The handwoven textile for the lehenga was developed in Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh using a special gold and silk yarn. The embroidery was created using the kalabattu technique with real gold and silver threads, and the entire piece was centred around a stylised lotus motif.”
For the unversed, Sonam Kapoor had completed her quintessential bridal look with a pair of ethnic Rajasthani earrings, a matching aad as well as guttapusalu neckpieces, matha patti, and traditional Punjabi chuda with kalire.
