Actress Sonakshi Sinha recently shared glimpses of her visit to the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by her husband Zaheer Iqbal.
In a series of photos, the actor is seen embracing the mosque’s architecture and spiritual ambiance, respectfully covering her head with a dupatta. Sharing the experience with her fans, Sonakshi captioned the post, “Found a little sukoon, right here in Abu Dhabi! @visitabudhabi #InAbuDhabi #ad.”

The post comes just days after fellow actor Deepika Padukone faced online trolling for wearing a hijab in an Abu Dhabi tourism campaign. In contrast, Sonakshi’s post has been met largely with appreciation from fans.
Many highlighted the importance of respecting spiritual spaces regardless of religion, with one user writing, “So it's normal for Sonakshi but not for Deepika?? Both visited the same mosque and both looking wonderfully amazing with their husbands. Can we stop trolling people and let them live peacefully.”
Another commented, “In a temple or a mosque it’s a spiritual thing to cover the heads, whether or not you’re a Hindu or a Muslim. A society blinded and divided by religion will never understand the respect for spirituality.” Others drew parallels, saying, “Take him to Ram Mandir and post the same sukoon post.”
Sonakshi has previously spoken openly about her interfaith marriage. In a candid conversation on The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra earlier this year, she shared, “In how we are as a couple, no… there are certain customs that he and his family follow, which I really respect, and certain customs that me and my family follow, which they respect. Religion is something that will never come in between the two of us. There’s never been any question or a fight or anything… Our strength lies in respect.”
The duo got married on June 23, 2023.
