As the iconic Amitabh Bachchan turned 82 on October 11, actress and humanitarian Somy Ali took a moment to reflect on her admiration for the Bollywood legend, whose films have left an indelible mark on her life. Sharing her excitement, Somy exclaimed, "Oh my goodness! I can’t believe he will be 81! Amitji is larger than life and has captivated every single emotion a human carries with absolute confidence on screen like no other actor can."

Growing up as a kid Somy shared her memories about the megastar and said, "In those times, we had three superstars: Amitji, Kakaji (Rajesh Khanna), and Rekhaji (Rekha)." She fondly remembered watching all of Amitabh’s films with her mother, saying there isn’t a single one they missed. “Amitji has been a towering figure in our household, his films representing every shade of human emotion.”

When asked about her favorite films of Amitabh Bachchan, Somy couldn’t help but highlight two memorable moments from her life tied to the legendary actor. "I have so many favorites, but Khuddar and Khuda Gawah stand out because I had the privilege of being on set for both of them. I was just 7 years old during the shooting of Khuddar, and then when I was 17, I found myself in Nepal while he was filming Khuda Gawah. It was surreal – we were shooting at the same place and time."

Mentioning about the same in her Instagram post, Somy Ali also went on to wish the actor on her official social media page wherein she wrote, “A very Happy Birthday to the greatest actor in the whole world. Amiji, I am so happy to have had met you when I was seven years old and then again in Nepal during Khuda Gawah at 17. Your intellectualism, your captivating all emotions, and being larger than life is phenomenal. I grew up on your films from Kahie Kabhie to Lawaris. You are the epitome of perfection in every realm of being an artist. Wishing you a wonderful day and please continue entertaining us. As there’s nothing one who does from comedy to drama better than you.”

Reflecting on the sheer magnetism of Amitabh Bachchan, she added, "Amitji is so powerful that if he were to sneeze, the entire country would shut down. That’s how much we love him. His presence is larger than life."
