Over the years, many reality shows for children have been aired on the Indian television. These shows have given platform to many talented kids. Shows like ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs’, ‘Sabse Bada Kalakaar’, ‘Indian Idol Junior’, ‘Super Dancer’, ‘DID Lil’ Masters’, ‘Junior Masterchef India’ are amongst the few shows which have garnered immense viewership. Although these shows explore the amazing talents of these kids, they do have to go through many stressful situations in order to win the ultimate prize.

Shoojit Sircar urges the authorities to ban kids’ reality shows

Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar has shown concern over such shows and how they are putting the children under a lot of pressure. On Wednesday, he urged the authorities to put a ban on the shows involving children. He took to the social media and stated “Humble request to authorities to urgently ban all reality shows involving children. It’s actually destroying them emotionally and their purity”.

Earlier, in the year, Shoojit Sircar had showcased the issue of the pressures children go through during exam season in his short film Release The Pressure.
