“Sarzameen will always mark a turning point in my life,” says Kayoze Irani ahead of the release of his directorial debut : Bollywood News

JioHotstar is set to premiere Sarzameen on July 25, 2025. The film features Prithviraj Sukumaran as Vijay Menon, a man navigating the complex responsibilities of being both a father and a soldier. Kajol stars as Meher, a mother striving to hold her family together, while Ibrahim Ali Khan portrays Harman, a young man dealing with inner conflict and divided loyalties.

Sarzameen marks the directorial debut of Kayoze Irani and is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta under the Dharma Productions banner. The film explores themes of duty, family, and identity against the backdrop of national service and personal sacrifice.

Kayoze Irani described working on Sarzameen as a deeply meaningful experience that had a personal impact beyond just professional growth.

“Sarzameen will always mark a turning point in my life,” he said. “It’s changed me deeply, especially as a person. I’m more emotional now, closer to my family, and I think I’ve become more loving—even if people around me may not agree!”

He added, “There were challenges, like the weather and the pressure, but even on the toughest days, I felt grateful to be working on something so meaningful. Whether or not it changes my career, I know it has changed me personally. A lot of what I’ve expressed in this film came from thinking about my future—my family, and the kind of stories I want to tell.”

Sarzameen will be available to stream in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada on JioHotstar.
