Salman Khan spoke his heart out during the group interaction held at a five-star hotel in Mumbai as part of promotions of Sikandar. He also opened up about his association with Pradeep Rawat, with whom he has worked in Baaghi (1990), Patthar Ke Phool (1991), Sangdil Sanam (1994) etc.
The superstar was asked by a journalist about Pradeep Rawat’s claim that Ghajini (2008) was first offered to Salman Khan and he recommended Aamir’s name. Salman replied, “Even I heard this story! And I heard it from Pradeep Rawat. We lovingly call him Ghajini.”
Sikandar, incidentally is directed by A R Murugadoss, who also made Ghajini. Salman Khan continued, “He further said once that ‘Murugadoss is very disciplined and sincere. Salman kaise kaam kar lega (with Murugadoss)? Salman ko gussa bahut aata hai’. He has worked in 5 films with me and this is what he says! I have not met him in a long time. But the day I meet him, I’ll ask him, ‘Main tere pe kab gussa hua?’!”
A journalist reminded Salman Khan about his famous scene in Baaghi, in which the superstar’s character asks for ‘100 rupaye’ from Pradeep Rawat’s character. Salman raised laughs as he remarked about Udit Narayan’s kissing episode, “That suits Udit Narayan and for him, it’s not rupaye but dollar. Ab Udit Narayan ko kya bole (smiles). Woh toh itne busy ho gaye hai ki mere sau rupaye un sab pe loota rahe hai!”
Sikandar releases in cinemas on March 30. Meanwhile, Mohanlal-Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer L2 Empuraan releases on March 27 while Sunny Deol’s Jaat arrives in cinemas on April 10. Salman won hearts as he expressed the desire that viewers should watch all three films. He even said, “I would like to appeal to all multinational companies that they should increase the salaries of their employees. Unko bonus bhi de dena chahiye so that people can watch L2 Empuraan, Sikandar and also Jaat!”
